 Dear Track

There I was thinking an 0600 Sunday start, long drive, and hill-infested NSW run might discourage all but one or two. Not a chance. Bradey knocked over 20km before the sun rose and most of nine others nailed 10-14km of Wamberra fenceline before the flies ate us alive. The Great Ocean Road Marathon Project was officially launched.

Coffee and history with Patty & Ned at Wamberra Homestead rounded out a great morning. More to come at our off-road HQ.

This weekend an elite paddling team tackles the raging whitewater of the Darling. Gentle weather and big flows give us some chance of completing the 240km journey from Pooncarie to the border, but either way it promises to be a remarkable river journey. Should you wish to join our Saturday night camp (could be anywhere downstream from Pooncarie but with road access) I'll have my mobile on. Try 0427 290765, assuming telephone coverage, on Saturday after 5pm, and you can come and play with the boats, catch yabbies, or massage tired shoulders. The river is stunning at the moment and provides rare opportunity to enjoy it in a state of prosperity.

Track One was huge and fast and nasty. The bar has been set for 2010, with words like rest and drinks and fun evicted from the Track vocabulary. About time, and even Tracy was nervous.

Merbein Kids Triathlon and Euston looming in the back half of February. Pick your favourite orange.

Regards

Wilgs
